Where Sacred Tradition Meets Somatic Healing

Reclaim Your Spirit. Reclaim Your Power. Reclaim Your Sacred Space.

Reclaiming Sacred Spaces: Ribbon Skirt Therapy is a culturally grounded healing experience developed by Indigenous Mental Health Clinician Stephanie Erickson.

Blending Indigenous teachings and ceremony with trauma-informed counselling and somatic practices, this workshop brings together mind, body, and spirit to create space for healing, reflection, release, and reclamation.

At the center of the experience is the creation of a ribbon skirt—not simply as a garment, but as a symbol of identity, resilience, healing, and the journey back to ourselves.

The Healing Journey

Throughout the workshop, participants intentionally create their ribbon skirt while being guided through teachings and practices that connect each stage of its creation to their own healing journey.

Participants will explore:

  • Somatic grounding and nervous system regulation

  • Intentional colour and ribbon selection

  • Identity, connection, and personal meaning

  • Guided visualization and soul retrieval

  • Releasing unhealthy energetic ties through cord-cutting

  • Reclaiming parts of ourselves impacted by trauma, grief, or difficult experiences

  • Embodiment and integration

  • Sacred fire ceremony and intentional release

As the skirt takes shape, it becomes a tangible reflection of what has been carried, what is ready to be released, and what the participant chooses to reclaim and carry forward.

More Than a Ribbon Skirt

Reclaiming Sacred Spaces is about creating something that can continue to hold meaning long after the workshop ends.

The completed ribbon skirt becomes a physical reminder of the participant's strength, identity, healing, intentions, and connection to spirit—a piece of their journey they can carry with them.

Facilitator Training Available

We also offer Facilitator Training for clinicians, counsellors, Elders, ceremony keepers, community leaders, and others who wish to bring Reclaiming Sacred Spaces: Ribbon Skirt Therapy into their own communities.

Facilitators are guided through the complete program while learning how to hold culturally respectful, trauma-informed spaces; support emotional processing; incorporate ceremony safely and intentionally; maintain appropriate boundaries; and care for themselves while supporting others.

Facilitated by Stephanie Erickson, RCC
